Juvederm, Restylane, Botox and Dysport

Now is the time to address volume loss and dynamic wrinkles.

When you look in the mirror, do you see the 11 sign right between the brows?  This occurs from the corrugator muscles which pull down and inward, creating a look of frustration, even when you are relaxed.  The simple solution is Dysport (Medicis) or Botox (Allergan) to this area.  Both are botulinum neurotoxin A and both are equally priced for the amount needed.

In practice, I have started using more Dysport than Botox because of longevity.  An article published by Dr. Corey Maas did a split ocular study where one side was injected with Botox and the other with Dysport.  Patients and physicians found that the Dysport side gave a more satisfied appearance.

When addressing volume loss, one of my favorite areas to treat is under the eyes.  We start to hollow at this area which can give a shadowing effect causing a darker appearance.  I only use Restylane here because Juvederm can lead to bogginess.  Typically 1 syringe is all that is needed for this location.

For the lips, I like Juvederm Ultra and sometimes Ultra plus.  And for the nasolabial folds and marionette lines, either Juvederm, Restylane or Perlane.  Depending on the level of volume loss, multiple syringes may be indicated.

All of our products are very competively priced and all are performed by a board certified ophthalmologist who is fellowship trained in dermatologic cosmetic surgery.
