As a variation of Juvéderm®, Voluma® is an injectable filler made with a sugar-based compound the body naturally produces, called hyaluronic acid. The purpose of hyaluronic acid is to help the skin maintain water and nutrient reserves that allow it to stay smooth and elastic. With a single Voluma® treatment session lasting no longer than a lunch break, North Carolina women and men can put their best face forward quickly and with minimal fuss.
Much like Juvéderm Ultra® and Juvéderm Ultra Plus®, Voluma® XC is utilized to target moderate to severe facial lines and furrows. However, Voluma® is a compound that is particularly effective for patients looking to add volume to their cheeks, since it contours and lifts that region of the face to give it a more a youthful appearance. This is a particularly effective filler option for areas of the face that require more filling and lifting.
A Voluma® XC treatment session in Charlotte, NC, lasts only half an hour to an hour. The number and location of injections depends upon your specific needs, but we will provide you with this information during your consultation. Voluma® XC is ideally suited for filling hollows and lines in the middle of the face, and, in fact, is the first filler approved by the FDA specifically for this purpose.
Unlike some procedures that require days or even weeks for the full results to materialize, patients should see positive effects immediately and will continue to improve over the first month as the hyaluronic acid molecule pulls in more fluid for the final result. Results of Juvéderm Voluma® last up to two years. While certain treatment options require multiple sessions to achieve maximum results, most patients only require a single treatment with one or several syringes of Juvéderm Voluma® XC depending on the volume need.
Injectable fillers are among the most popular cosmetic procedures around the world, with nearly two million patients receiving this treatment in the United States alone each year. Voluma® XC is safe for patients over the age of 21, although patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding should wait to pursue treatment.
Patients should avoid strenuous exercise, extreme heat or sun exposure, and alcoholic beverages in the first 24 hours following treatment. Otherwise, patients can immediately return to normal activities and routine, including going back to work if they should so choose.
Some patients experience redness, swelling, bruising, and itching at the injection site, but these effects are mild and should dissipate within a few days. However, we do encourage our patients to contact us with any questions or concerns following any procedure.
The cost of Voluma® XC treatment in North Carolina varies based on your unique and specific treatment plan. During your consultation, we will provide a full breakdown of estimated costs for your treatment, based on the severity and size of the area requiring treatment. We charge a $25 consultation fee, which is then applied to the cost of treatment. North Carolina patients will be happy to learn that we do offer six-month financing options through CareCredit for patients whose treatments cost a minimum of $300. We work with our patients to develop a treatment plan that meets financial as well as physical needs.
