I began my career in healthcare as a pharmacist, earning my degree from the
University of Kentucky. From there, I pursued medical school at
Emory University, followed by residency at the renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. I returned to North Carolina as a
board-certified ophthalmologist, and early in my career, I began treating patients with hemifacial spasm using botulinum toxin (BOTOX®). That was my spark. I became deeply intrigued by the intersection of
medicine, beauty, and function, and I knew this field would become my life’s work.
I went on to complete a rigorous fellowship in Research and Clinical Cosmetic Dermatology with Dr. Mitch Goldman, one of the world’s most respected leaders in cosmetic dermatology, in La Jolla, California. That fellowship changed the course of my career. It immersed me in the daily art and science of injectables, dermal fillers, and advanced laser technologies for treating vascular conditions, pigmentation, aging, fat, and collagen remodeling. Since then, I’ve never stopped learning—and never stopped loving what I do.
