Sculptra injectable is wonderful to restore volume to the face and improve the collagen matrix of the face. This is a patient who is status post two injections to the lower aspect of the face to restore her youthful volume. The added benefit of Sculptra is that it also improves the quality of the dermis overlying the area injected.
Sculptra injections utilize Poly-L-lactic acid which is a sugar molecule that stimulates collagen. We often recommend 1 bottle per decade of life when thinking of volume restoration. This Huntersville, NC female is status post 2.5 bottles and beginning to show results with filling in of temples/upper face and nasolabial folds.
